2023 started terribly. On the first weekend of the new year, we discovered my wife Alison had bowel cancer, a devastating diagnosis that shook our world. This led to a lot of reflection and soul searching on my part. Little did I know that the cancer would be the catalyst that would set me off on a journey that would alter the trajectory of my life; to pursue a vision and establish a sustainable fashion sunglasses brand with the aim of creating a positive influence on the world.

The genesis of Valorous London reaches back to 2017, the year my daughter was born. On that transformative night, I realised the importance of preserving our world for future generations and that meaningful change was required. Unbeknown to me, a seed was planted in the depths of my mind that would later grow into something very tangible.

Fast forward three years, and the world was in the grip of a global pandemic. Alison, an intensive care nurse, worked tirelessly on the frontlines in one of London's largest and busiest hospitals, battling COVID-19. My constant concern for her safety reignited inner stirrings. I now felt compelled to start a business. Not only to fulfil my vision but also to create a safer path for Alison, away from the potential risks she faced on the pandemic's frontlines. But these audacious thoughts subsided somewhat as lockdown restrictions were eased. But the thoughts did not die, and years later I would come to rely upon them.

Back to present day, and the profound impact of Alison's battle with cancer again gave rise to my inner stirrings to start a business, one with a commitment to benefitting the world and doing good for future generations. This venture wasn't just about creating a sustainable fashion brand; it was about making a positive impact on the environment and society at large, ensuring that our actions contributed to a better future for all.

And so Valorous London was born.
